CIT training was held the week of November 13 at the Kaua‘i Police Department. Crisis Intervention Training prepares law enforcement officers to help those with mental Illness or who are homeless. It also improves the safety of officers responding to complaints, consumers and other citizens within the community.
Kathy Sheffield, NAMI Kaua‘i was asked to assemble consumer, family member, and professional panels, in order to help the class understand the perspective of all concerned.
